How to Choose a USB Flash Drive: Connector, Capacity & Interface
A useful USB drive shortlist starts with the devices you need to connect. Compare connector, capacity, USB interface and housing separately, then test the chosen configuration on the intended host.
Start with the connector
For an existing USB-A port, the NEWSMY range includes V53, V55, V62, V68, V70 and X68. If your workflow moves between USB-A and USB-C devices, V78 combines both connectors in one drive. For phones and tablets, also check USB host / OTG or external-storage support, power and file-system compatibility.
Separate interface names from measured speed
USB 3.2 covers more than one signalling rate. A version label alone cannot establish a specific read or write speed. NEWSMY V70, X68 and V78 are listed as USB 3.2, but a numerical rate is not asserted without a model-specific specification. Compare reference benchmarks using the same capacity, workload and host.
Choose an actual capacity and colour
V53, V55, V62 and V68 are listed from 4 GB to 128 GB; V70 and X68 from 8 GB to 128 GB; V78 from 32 GB to 256 GB. Use the product page to see the available individual options. Selectable housing colours are distinct from a fixed standard finish.
Prepare a practical sample test
Include the host device model, file sizes, required capacity and estimated quantity in your sample request. Test the intended workflow, record the host and software, and back up files before changing formats or partitions. A good sample test is more useful than comparing unrelated maximum-speed labels.
