How to Choose a Card Reader: CR100 vs CR200
A card reader needs to match both the memory card and the host. The four-in-one and five-in-one names describe different combinations in these two NEWSMY models.
CR100: four card formats
CR100 supports SD, microSD / TF, MS and M2 memory cards through USB-A / USB 2.0. M2 means the Memory Stick Micro card format; it is unrelated to an M.2 SSD. The selectable housing colours are black, red, blue, yellow and silver.
CR200: two slots and three host connectors
CR200 supports SD and microSD / TF, with USB-A, USB-C and Micro USB host connectors. Its listed interface is USB 3.0 and the standard finish is gunmetal. Five-in-one refers to those three host connectors plus two card slots.
Verify mobile and transfer requirements
For a phone or tablet, check the exact connector, USB host / OTG support and card file system. Transfer speed depends on the card, reader and host together. Multiple card slots do not by themselves establish simultaneous reading support.
Prepare the right inquiry
Include the reader model, card format and capacity, host device and estimated quantity. For CR100, also select the colour. Both reader models have a published 5-year warranty. Request a sample if your application depends on a particular mobile device or workflow.
